Privacy Policy
Privacy policy for PLF3.org Here’s the non-legalese (no nonsense) privacy policy: (the one that humans can read)
On our site you have the option of giving us your email address and possibly your phone-number in exchange for information.
A) we will NEVER intentionally rent, share, sell or disclose your email address or phone-number with anybody else.
B) we promise only to send you useful information.
regarding A):
you may have noticed that we said “intentionally”, sounds a bit like we’re keeping some back-door open, right? As you’ll find in the legalese down below, we have to guard ourselves against being hacked. A real bummer, but a reality.
Our business lives (and dies) with our reputation. So we want keep that flying high and squeaky clean. You give us your email address and phone-number in good faith, and that’s the way we’ll treat it. And should we get hacked (actually, it’s not us, it’s aweber.com, the list-hosts where we keep our list, and so far they have a squeaky clean track-record, because they too depend on the trust people put in them), then we’ll kick aweber’s butt on your behalf.
regarding B)
This is a subject of often heated debate: when you give us your email address, you typically do this because you want to receive some useful information in return. This we will send to you.
Then we normally continue to send you other, related useful information, most of it pure content but also from time to time promotions we believe to be a) related and b) of interest to you.
Yes, like you, we have a business to run and we make a living by selling stuff.
There are two schools of thought on this
:
one says that if you pitch your list often and hard enough you make a lot of money (and if you don’t pitch relentlessy, then you leave a lot of money on the table)
whereas the other says that
if you build an awesome relationship with your list by providing a world-class customer experience, then you are probably leaving a lot of money on individual tables, but through all the goodwill those indviduals will recommend you to so many others, that the number of tables is so big that the total scope of win-win and goodwill makes up big time for the ‘left on table’ amount.
We believe that places like Amazon or Zappos are probably onto something, so we join them in the second school of thought.
So:
expect to get lots of awesome content (which when you put it into practice will make you a lot of money straight away) and also to get the odd commercial promotion (so you spend some of that ‘lotsa money’ with us) — we do this because we really think that you’ll get value out of it far in excess in what it would cost you to invest in it.
Should this not be the case, let us know — there are real people on this end. And if you really don’t want to hear from us anymore, there is an unsubscribe option in every single email from us. Just scroll to the bottom and click the happy unsubscribe link and we part as friends.
Here is the legal speak version of the above (the one that lawyers can read)
